Charlie Crist has been having a rough time of late. McCain didn’t pick him as VP, then McCain lost Florida, he’s had to find a “new guy” (Barack Obama), his party chairman is being challenged from the right, and the budget deficit is getting larger so he might have to do some work.
But the good news is that as he hosts the Republican Governor’s Association meeting in Miami this week, he is only 62 points behind Gov. Sarah Palin for the Republican nomination in 2012.
Charlie Crist will speak at the meeting of Republican Governors that will also feature Gov. Bobby Jindal, Gov. Sarah Palin, Gov Haley Babour, Gov. Tim Pawlenty, and many more people who have a better chance of winning their party’s nomination for President.
Of course the last thing on his mind is calling a special session to deal with the budget. He has a meeting to go to, then a wedding. It’s interesting Charlie had to miss Election Night to do important business, but fixing the budget must not be anywhere near as important.
When he’s done trying to make up ground in Iowa – Charlie might want to come back and actually do something about his current job.
